Privacy Policy
The short version
Ingryd has no account and no server. What you log stays on your iPhone and is not sent to Grydstone LLC. A meal you type or say, or a voice transcript, is read on this device, or by Apple’s Private Cloud Compute when this device cannot, under Apple’s terms; Ingryd does not keep it.
What we store
Your first name, sex, birthdate, height, weight, goal weight, whether you are starting or already on GLP-1 therapy, weigh-ins, scan history, saved favorites, protein logs, water logs, symptom logs, your dose plan and shot log, custom foods, bookmarks, and reminder settings stay on this iPhone (UserDefaults and Core Data). This data is not sent to Grydstone LLC or any third party. It leaves this iPhone only if you send it yourself, for example by sharing an export or a visit summary.
Apple Health (optional)
If you allow it, Ingryd can read and write dietary protein samples in Apple Health on this device so today's logged total can include protein recorded there. Those samples stay in Apple Health on your iPhone; Grydstone LLC does not collect them. If you decline, on-device protein logging continues to work. If you allow it, Ingryd can also read last night's sleep duration from Apple Health on this device to show it on Home. That data stays in Apple Health on your iPhone; Grydstone LLC does not collect it. If you allow it, Ingryd can also read today's dietary water from Apple Health on this device to show it on Home. If you allow it, Ingryd can also write water you log in the app to Apple Health on this device. If you allow it, Ingryd can also read your workouts, with their active energy, distance, and average heart rate, from Apple Health on this device to show them on Home. If you allow it, Ingryd can also read the last blood glucose sample from Apple Health on this device to show it on Home. If you allow it, Ingryd can also read your latest weight from Apple Health on this device to show it on Home and in Progress; that data stays in Apple Health on your iPhone and is not collected by Grydstone LLC.
Apple Watch
Apple Watch shows values copied from your iPhone. They stay on your devices.
Nutrition data
Nutrition data is bundled within the app and sourced from USDA FoodData Central. Barcode scans and searches are looked up on this device against the bundled USDA database; no barcode or search term is sent anywhere. A meal you type or say is read on this device, or by Apple’s Private Cloud Compute when this device cannot, under Apple’s terms. Only the foods you confirm are logged. Photograph Nutrition Facts does not use an estimate.
Camera
Camera access is used to detect product barcodes and to photograph Nutrition Facts labels, both using on-device processing (AVFoundation and Apple's Vision framework). Barcode frames and Nutrition Facts photos are processed in memory and discarded. They are not stored on-device, not sent to Grydstone LLC, and not sent to any OCR vendor or other third party. All recognition runs entirely on your device.
Notifications
If you turn them on, Next Dose and strength-training reminders are scheduled on this iPhone. They are local notifications; nothing is sent to Grydstone LLC to create them. You can turn them off in Profile → Reminders or in the iPhone Settings app.
Microphone & speech
On-device speech stays on the phone. The transcript may be sent to Apple’s Private Cloud Compute for an estimate, under Apple’s terms.
Analytics & tracking
None. Ingryd does not use analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID), device fingerprinting, or tracking technologies of any kind.
Data deletion
To delete all data stored by Ingryd, delete the app from your iPhone. All Core Data records are removed when the app is deleted. Grydstone LLC keeps no copy, so there are no server-side records to delete. If your iPhone is backed up to iCloud or a computer, that backup may still include Ingryd's data until the backup is deleted. Dietary protein and water samples you allowed Ingryd to write to Apple Health remain in Apple Health until you delete them there or swipe-delete the matching log in Ingryd.
This website
Everything above describes the Ingryd app. This website, ingryd.health, is separate and does collect one thing: if you join the launch notification list on our home page, your email address is collected and stored by EmailOctopus, our email service provider, and used only to tell you when Ingryd is available.
That address is never linked to anything from the app. App data never leaves your device, so there is no technical means by which the two could be connected. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, and you can request deletion of your address by writing to legal@ingryd.health.
Children
Ingryd is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date above. The current policy is always available online at: https://ingryd.health/privacy.html
