Privacy Policy
The Ingryd app does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information. Everything stays on your device. This website is covered separately, below.
What we store
Your health profile (conditions, dietary goals), scan history, and saved favorites are stored exclusively on your iPhone using Apple's Core Data framework. This data never leaves your device and is never shared with Grydstone LLC, Apple, or any third party.
Nutrition data
Nutrition data is bundled within the app and sourced from USDA FoodData Central. No network requests are made to retrieve nutrition data. When you scan a product barcode, all lookups happen entirely on-device against the bundled USDA database. No barcode, search term, or any other data is transmitted externally for nutrition lookups.
Camera
Camera access is used solely to detect product barcodes using on-device real-time processing (AVFoundation). No images, video frames, or any camera data are stored on-device, transmitted to any server, or shared with any party. All barcode detection runs entirely on your device.
Analytics & tracking
None. Ingryd does not use analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, advertising identifiers (IDFA/GAID), device fingerprinting, or tracking technologies of any kind.
Medical considerations
Ingryd is an information tool. Always consult your doctor or dietitian before making dietary changes, especially if you have a diagnosed condition or are taking any prescription medication.
Data deletion
To delete all data stored by Ingryd, delete the app from your iPhone. All Core Data records are removed when the app is deleted. There are no cloud backups and no server-side records to delete.
This website
Everything above describes the Ingryd app. This website, ingryd.health, is separate and does collect one thing: if you join the launch notification list on our home page, your email address is collected and stored by EmailOctopus, our email service provider, and used only to tell you when Ingryd is available.
That address is never linked to anything from the app. App data never leaves your device, so there is no technical means by which the two could be connected. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email we send, and you can request deletion of your address by writing to legal@ingryd.health.
Children
Ingryd is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the Effective Date above. The current policy is always available at ingryd.health/privacy.
